Time Unrelenting Poem by Helen Lawson

Time Unrelenting

Time, unrelenting, passes on
Fleeting glimpses of you fill my waking moments
and haunt my sleep – the you of years ago
Young and full of hopes and dreams.

We live and must move on – easy to say, harder to do
Impossible not to feel regret at lost love
Lost chances to forgive – and be forgiven
Life too short for childish hurts and slights – if only’s.

If only love cured all life’s ills.
We hope you knew how much we cared
Gone from us now, yet still you live – in our hearts
Remembered – loved always – until we meet again.
