Time Will Tell Poem by Mishack Mchunu

Time Will Tell

If only I could witness my own birth,
I would remove the tears and show her the great future
Fade away the pain and give her some breath
But I could only share tears with her and mature.
Every time she celebrates the day she was born
Her knees become weak and her beauty fades
Time will soon turn everything to be torn
Even death bade on time and to it she cedes.
Oh! The unconquerable joy that we feel inside
Deep in the soul that never grow old
And all the weaknesses of the vulnerable flesh we set aside
And we dwell with the soul with great insight even after death it is never cold
For we all live with a thought of dying someday
Make no mistake about it celebrate while it’s you birthday
