I remember when we
Would roam the gardens,
Eating raw foods on a whim.
But times have changed.
I remember when an apple
Was an apple for its taste.
And a banana was good
For more than two days.
But times have changed.
I remember when folks
Left their doors unlocked,
And neighbors didn’t have to knock.
But times have changed.
I remember when children
Could come and go,
Without being stalked by who knows.
But times have changed.
I remember when TV shows
Were friendly and kind,
And not the type that blows your mind.
But times have changed.
Life has simply drifted along;
Times have changed.
And that’s my song.
