Tinnitus Poem by gershon hepner

Tinnitus

Within a modern Miró minute is
a Dutch interior, man with lute. The tinnitus
disturbs a lovely viewer in the crowd,
who wonders why the world seems always loud.
I've seen her in the past when she once dared
to take a peach when other were too scared.
Now in no silence she observes the lute,
enjoying it like sweet forbidden fruit.

Inspired by a painting by Jean Miró, Dutch Interior (!) , painted in 1928, echoing a Dutch interior by Hendrick Martensz Sorgh. When Linda saw the painting, which was her favorite in the Miró exhibition at MoMa, she said it reminded her of hr of the tinnitus that has been plaguing her for decades.
