Tiny Yellow Flowers Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Tiny Yellow Flowers

Tiny yellow flowers peeping
through the foliage evergreen
and your smile forever beaming
in each nostalgic summer dream.

In those days of wine and roses
I knew that I was yours alone
we loved as no-one loved before
ours was ecstasy unknown.

But as the evening sun was fading
death flew in on darkest wing
sad of heart I stood there weeping
for I had lost my everything.

Tiny yellow flowers peeping
I still see their floral hue... but
now the singing days have ended
and I sit alone and think of you.
