Tired Of Rumors Poem by Laura Strom

Tired Of Rumors

straight A student sat next to me in class. Don't
know her well but rumor says she's 'fast.' Of
course I don't assume or accept them as true.
Gossip gets old...they just tease her cuz she's
new. So I'll make conversation, see what she's
about. And if I don't like her, gossip still
won't leave my mouth. That's how I do it,
that's how i am. I get tired of rumors...they'll
never end. When a new girl comes they'll start
over again. See, rumors are tales, without a happy
end.
