Titanic And The Ark Poem by Joseph Eli Atisu

Titanic And The Ark

Rating: 5.0

All set for a maiden voyage
The giant ship set off to sail
Built by many expert hands
Who erred to think they'll never fail
All set for a maiden voyage
Noah's ark set off to sail
Built by unskilled and aged hands
Fit together by pitch and nail

With lower, second and third stories
The ark was filled with love and family
With third, second and first classes
Titanic was filled with rank and fame
Hailed by men as unsinkable
It brought the doom of million souls
Scourned by men as unthinkable
The ark was a saviour of souls
For forty days and forty nights
The ancient ark survived the storm
But just after four lonely days
Great Titanic begun to sink

So is your life my dearest friend
A Noah's ark or Titanic
You either build with God in view
And walk the path trodden by few
Or chase the vanity of fame
To bring it closer to your name
And as with pride and fame you ride
The icebergs will surely scratch your side
Your distress calls will in darkness die
Your lonely heart will in coldness lie
Then slowly slowly you'll sink
As the world watch, no help to bring

So build your life as Noah's ark
With faith in God you'll leave a mark
With diligence and humble heart
He'll grant you strength to finish the task
For forty days and forty nights
The clouds may come, the storm may roar
For forty days and forty nights
Like Noah's ark, you'll rise and soar
