To Be Free Poem by Kelsea Osterman

To Be Free

Rating: 5.0

Let me be free.
Let me speak the way I want to speak.
Hold me back no more.
Don’t tell me I’m wrong anymore.
I will no longer listen to you.
I will no longer follow in a line.
I will no longer just stand by and watch as we die.
I will stand up for what I believe in.
I will fight the never ending fight.
I will now speak what I believe to be true.
I will no longer hide in fear of being shot down.
I will stand up and be proud.
I’ll be who I want to be not you who wish me to be.
I’ll break free of the enslavement that I must endure.
Let it be heard and seen that the truth must be heard.
That the truth must be spoken.
I no longer see the lies; I see nothing but the truth.
So now I call on you to help spread the truth.
Speak the lies no more, and tell everyone the truth.
No longer be enslaved, and shackled to the lies we were told.
Believe in what is true, and speak to be free.
Break free from what they want.
And remember what it felt like to dream.
Dream of a better world, and help it be.
Dream to be free once again
So join in the fight to be free once again.

Wonderful poem. We have to stand up for what we believe in. We have to follow our heart. At the same time, dear Kelsea, do keep an open heart and an open mind. Even though sometimes we really need to take a hard stance, communicating the hard stance in a soft spoken and polite way is often best. Firm and soft, strong and polite, determined and kind, .... Yes Kelly, I like the poem very much, break free from the lies, keep searching for the truth. The search for Truth, is a never ending committment for those who want to live really a true life. Remembering the 3 Rs may be helpful: reverence for life, reflection (daily silent, perhaps prayerful. reflection in nature or in a quiet room) and reading (books have been written by experts on almost everything we do; if we read with a critical mind, books can make a huge difference in our life) I wish you all the best. Wanting truth and wanting to live the truth is one of the noblest wishes. Mix it with wisdom and you will do marvellous things, making a big difference in this world.

I love the way you come right out like a fire breathing dragon, 'Let me be free'. I love it. It is powerful and so heart felt all the way. I salute you Miss Kelsea for picking up the blade and weilding it in the cause of freedom. You are a warrior ready for the fight. And you have taken up such a worthy cause that so many others have gallantley died for. Also you are a truth seeker, which walks hand in hand with freedom. I feel proud of you as one who has the longevity of youth in your corner to be strongly dedicated as a champion for freedom. We need you and many others with your passion to pick up that sword and walk with you. My hats off to you. Jim Troy

Stunning piece of work. I love the revolutionary thoughts right is right and wrong is wrong no matter where you live in the world. You must stand up for what is right, stand up and be damned. Someone once said I'd rather live for tens seconds stood up than live two minutes on my knees. Excellent Piece full of action and imagery. Regards. Craig
