To Become Poem by Pete Rivera

To Become

Darkness and dreary nights
Clouds of death
And glooming lights
The blade of my own
Integrity intent
To stab past my own
My own dreams hellbent

And now the mist
Ghosts of the realm
Kill with death's kiss
And my own spirit
Chanting for truth
To enshroud the lies
Coming from you

We are
We can be

There is no moon
To light the dark
Light a match
Hell will spark
And spark around
The sleeping trees
I beg of you
Please

The eyes, the smirk
All the shadows, death
It lurks
Lurks within my soul
My soul, my all
And I beg of you
Never true
In the crystal blue

We are
We can be
We are
We can be

Anger builds
And doesn't stop
The thief continues
To pick the lock
And the wolves
They spot him through
And soon his flesh
Became renewed

We are
And we can be

The sky is darkening
Darkening slowly
The sky is darkening
Darkening slowly

I can see
Past the lies

We are
We can be
One
