To Eternity And Beyond Poem by Godwin Kavaarpuo

To Eternity And Beyond

Rating: 5.0

Horns forlornly tooting
hearts faintly beating
tears freely flowing
vaguely stirring at the tick-tock
days are empty
flowers are green
the sun has set during day
shadows fading into darkness
a friendship once celebrated
a friendship now broken
a love solemnly sailing away
a goodbye never said
giving all the knockout
On a bed of codeine you laid
doing all to slay the pain
keeping the light to brighten your little plain
wading to chase the dreams
wish the sun could shine forever
and my ears the melody of birds
Side by side we tussled our battles
juries and assignments we recall
day by day we raced for lectures
and group meetings too
carols of triumph we rehearsed
but you got the crown
now in shroud you lay
babbling the celestial patois
memories of you slowly replayed
memories of you eternally retold
Riding on Cloud Nine
celestial chorus before you replayed
a friendship now rekindled

In Loving Memory of Maxwell Sekum
