'To Heaven From Me' Poem by Munia Khan

'To Heaven From Me'

Oh! Merciful Heaven! !

Please lend me your blessing

Before the tears run dry

Or is it my soul that is replacing?

Please let me know

Which is the path to be followed?

Do all the sins belong to me?

Or should my name be hallowed?

This soul reminds me of death

Always between heaven and hell

Not knowing which will open to greet me

Shall I be ruined or am I to fell?

I feel all my wounds re-joining

But ‘Happiness lies only in virtue’ –they say

Then where have all the virtues gone?

Must be faded away with its doleful day

So, to the Sacred Heaven I beg

Engrave myself to somewhere

Where my purity will assure me of a place

And my mind will burn to be united with flair!

Written in the evening of the 13th of April,2010.
