To Live Reasonably Happy Poem by Francis Duggan

To Live Reasonably Happy

To live reasonably happy is my idea of success
Life is too short for worry and for stress
The more you worry the more your worries grow
And unhappiness is one none wish to know
Your weight of worries are dragging you down
Few wish to know the sad sack of the town
Since they have their own problems with to contend
They would hardly need one like you for a friend
'Tis said life serves us up what is our due
But laugh and the World laughs with you seems so true
Your sad stories others do not wish to hear
When for their own financial woes they shed a silent tear
When you are happy your friends multiply
Why this should be why should you wonder why?
