To Love The Rainbow Poem by ANJALI KAKATI

To Love The Rainbow

What to do?
Where to go?
How to get by?
Fell in love,
With you
O rainbow
and
Followed you everywhere
Like a child.
Desires of your colours
Colouring my soul,
The deepest colour
Of crimson
melting into pink and white.
Here I have reached,
A point of no return,
Only to find
You long gone,
Your footprints,
A haze of colours
On the palate of my dreams.
O beloved rainbow!
Couldn't you see
Behind the façade of
My smiles,
How I had cried,
The tears were real.
How following you
I suffered bruises
And now
the wound in my heart
Refuses to heal.
How could you?
O rainbow!
How can I blame you?
The façade was so real!
and
You must have your own reasons
To leave,
Without saying goodbyes
now silently shall I die
My death,
You will never know
How, when, why?
Fell in love with you
O rainbow!
And now
don't know
What to do?
Where to go?
How to get by? -anjali
