To Mention Facts Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

To Mention Facts

Facts to have accepted them,
Offend more often than they defend.

To mention facts with them to prove,
Initiate arguments a truth seldom soothes.

And those to uncover the facts to be,
Become despise for their honesty.

With a disrespect that continues to protect,
Delusions too many pray to keep believed.
