To Mistake Is To Be Allowed Poem by Bruce Ruston

To Mistake Is To Be Allowed

Rating: 2.5

What's more than enough
to occupy, that need to be
at ease with an image
of that self you wish you had become

Being here by your own decisions
made in haste or long reflection
to mistake is to be allowed to be
your own tale, a story of simple being

you may think yourself just a footnote
beware, you have more effect than
is credited openly, people watch
a far from comment and blow a kiss
to the past it is just that past

that foundation is but a memory
of fondness and regret but still
the guide of present path picking
the only road to the future

To mistake is to be allowed
and always should
