To My 4th Period Class Poem by Daniel Cook

To My 4th Period Class

Rating: 0.5

You! All of you!
In this class
What do you think of me?
After I read,
After I tell you secrets,
Embarrassing things
Things I'm afraid of.
My conscience is poured out before you
I tell you about my faith.
Do you even listen?
I’m different because of this.
Or am I the same as you because of all this?
When I say something funny are you laughing to be nice?
Or do you find me funny?
Do you think I'm weird?
Please tell me,
This desire for acceptance,
This anxiety
Is killing me
Do you see me the same as you did before this class?
I hope not
I hope you see me for what I believe, who I am, not just some jokes
I hope you see that I have depth
I want you to see me different
Do you?
