To My Babies....Happy Mothers Day Every Day - Poem by Lilac Wine

To My Babies…….Happy Mothers Day Every Day

Do you remember the very first day you spent inside your very first cradle in my womb?
Do you remember the calm warm liquid love I enveloped you in?
Do you remember my calming soothing voice with you in the darkness?
Do you remember the beat of my loving heart?
Do you remember how I nourished you with my own blood?
Do you remember kicking me from within?
Do you remember bringing a smile to my tired yet blossoming face?
Do you remember me sitting up late in the night in discomfort only for your comfort?
Do you remember my pain and cries upon feeling torn apart?
Do you remember when the moment turned into minutes turned into hours?
Do you remember holding on so tight not wanting to leave the comfort and safety of my womb
Do you remember me pushing you out taking my own self to the brink of death?
Do you remember me giving you a glimpse of your new life?
Do you remember the look in my eyes?
Do you remember the first time I held you, your very first caress?
Do you remember the first kiss I planted upon your face?
Do you remember that first tear that rolled down my cheek
Do you remember your first tear I kissed away with my healing lips?
Do you remember the look of pride and joy?
Do you remember my very first silent prayer?
Do you remember being severed from my tired form?
Do you remember me holding you to my breast to give you only my very best?

Well I remember each and every moment and will take it with me upon my last breath
For as long and beyond…. hold on to that invisible cord
I love you all unconditionally and will always be right here in your hearts
Happy Mothers Day to you all
Love Always
Mummy

I am immensely pleased to read this beautiful poem of yours. It's so wonderful! My wife bore three of my children in our thirty five years of married life. Recently my daughter in law gave birth to my eldest son's first child. In all these child birth cases, I observed closely what a woman goes through while bearing a child. So, I could realize your feelings and understand every word of your poem.
I too, do think that to a mother and her children, every day is a Mother's Day.
I wrote a poem titled 'Womb' on the New Year's Day this year. I should be glad if you would have time to read my poem and perhaps, say a few words too.
I have rated this poem 10/10. Looking forward to reading some more of your poems soon. (Report) Reply

The title pulled me in and because my babies have been on my mind though they're all grown up now and have flown the nest. Superb job! ! As a mother and a writer! Hugs, Diane (Report) Reply

This is so tender and emotional and beyond beautiful like up there with the angels beautiful that it made me cry....You speak from your heart of a Mother's love and you're so very right and then some, there really is nothing like it, how could there ever be after having the childs heartbeat inside of you for ten months...It never ends, not even when they're grown and gone and a girl a Mom herself...As much as you love them, the intensity of it, can also at times break your heart.....Thank you for the wonder above that you've written for all of us.........marci.xoxo (Report) Reply
