To My Unborn Poem by Kelvin Owusu

To My Unborn

Rating: 5.0

Not a profit but I feel like I've seen death
Troubled by the pain I may go through before
I'm laid to rest
A thirst to live to see a brighter day
A curse been put upon so looking for another way.

I see you, beautiful, best thing ever did in my life
You're an angel, a seed blessed by the one I wish to be my wife
her smile, I hope you have it
My mind I hope you do something great with it
Many challenges, life's filled with lessons
Become a leader, open your mind, don't be a sheep but
to know how to lead learn to follow.

Life is a constant battle, never easy, always a struggle
Never run or in any way try to avoid your problems
Happiness, loneliness, ten per cent physical
ninety per cent mental in a spiritual sense
keep your mind open, observe without judgment.

Life is love, love is life in a world filled with sin
in the mind of all individuals beauty lies dormant
Nobody is perfect but in a positive mind
is where beauty resides making perfection not far behind
Our greatest sin is the fear of the unknown
as we tend to cast out and destroy that of which we don't understand.

Make a prayer that my spirit guides as you read this letter
We've never met but with all that I am, I love you beyond
This is everything, not just a love letter
Brighten the life of others as you have mine
To my unborn.

Sincerely your loving father

Beautiful one, dear Kelvin. Are you a father, expecting of the birth of a child? Congratulations. The content is great and the language is beautiful. I think you may need to spend time to have even lenght of lines. This has been my struggle too. There is that tendency to think freely and write freely. That is also very much acceptable in poetry. But at times, when we move forward in poetry writing, we can also demand more from ourselves to create a structure with harmony.
