Today Poem by Minu Jaiswal

Today

Today, I was shown a mirror,
A thing that happened with me never.
They said I’m not happy,
That my smile was all sandy.
They said I needed to smile,
Otherwise, I would soon die.
They said I have in me a lot of tears,
Which needed to be turned into hopeful cheers.
To some extent, even I agreed
It was all because of my deeds.
I don’t know why, I do not regret
But also, I just cannot forget.
Friends say, I have changed, totally,
Teachers complain, I have weakened morally.
I cannot get my confidence back,
Mental strength is the quality I lack.
I am sorry to those I have hurt,
Just because I couldn’t give them any mirth.
