Today... 'God Alone' Poem by Roy Allen

Today... 'God Alone'

Silently my soul waits for God alone
Who reigns upon the heavenly throne.
For He's the True and Living One
and Jesus Christ is His Only Son.

My Rock and my Salvation is He,
my Refuge, my Defence and my Glory.
I shall not be moved with Him at my side
For in Him I trust, and He will provide.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Psalm 62: 5-7
My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defence;
I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

Hymn
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

The Bible calls You by many names
each one giving a glimpse of Your glory.
Like a cut diamond radiating in the sun
with every facet depicting an aspect
of Your Divine Nature.
Today I have thought of You as
'God Alone'
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Denis Martindale 27 July 2012

I scrolled down to the end of the poem and below and caught sight of the extra notes from the Bible and the hymn. I nearly missed these because of the blank space and the extra stuff inbetween. If adding any notes like these, could you put a little note at the end of each poem to tell the readers to scroll down for additional notes? We don't always get to see the important Bible Scriptures, so I believe it helps to explain such things, especially to new readers of our poetry. The NIV is the New International Version and I've recently ordered one of these large print Holy Bibles from the Amazon website. Christian Regards, Denis Martindale.
