Tomb Daddy



Never! shall I wander
beyond these broken meadow stones,

where the rain slips down in mirrored pools
upon the marble crypt below,


By the steeple fence,
By the wooden gate.
By the old white broken tomb!

from where I shall never wander
waiting,

only for God to come
