Tomorrows Child Poem by Bridgid Patrick

Tomorrows Child

Why are you in such a hurry to grow up?
Relax a little, take your time, slow up.
There's no rush believe me, you need to slow down
Chill with friends, watch TV, go out on the town
Listen to music, play computer get high.
Why are you in such a hurry to die?

The world of the grown is dreary and sad,
If your still a child, you should be glad
What to expect? Hold up let me see
Taxes and bills and major school fees
Headaches and groans, backache and loans.

Not bad, not bad at all. This is a similar subject to a poem I have written called Childhood - The 21st Century. Sincerely Ernestine
