Too Late Poem by William B. Deutscher

Too Late

Dream bouncing back in a reflex of night
Widespread kiss like a drag of starlight

Love-soaked cry to a girl gone away
Rushing gray in a shot of day

But I'm still hoping for a happy ending
Crystal reflections in the mirror glass
Searching for clues in the tall wet grass

Life topping off as a shadow to the clock
Blue time flooded with throwaway talk
