Too Many Chicks Poem by jim foulk

Too Many Chicks

Rating: 4.8

So many years
ago in days
of my youth,

as i was
walking down
the street uptown

saw a sign
which read
baby chicks

only 1 penney
each, what
a deal that

was i said
to my self
so i bought
100 of them,

took them home,
my mom said
too many chicks
that would be.

she let me
keep a few,

the rest went
back to feed
store, thus

ending my dream
of fame and fortune
as a chicken king tycoon.

Brought a smile to my face. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, though. Or put them all in one basket. -chuck

I thought she might have egged you on Jim, and let you have a crack at it. I adored chicks as a child too, we kept chicken then and they were always producing. A delight holding each fluffy bundle. they were wonderful. Good subject here, I enjoyed reading it. Love Ernestine XXX
