Torment Poem by David Harris

Torment

Rating: 5.0

Head held bowed.
Eyes half open.
Hoping no one notices me.
So I can remain hidden.
From those who would accuse,
and the hurt they hurl.
That I was to blame,
for their own failures.
Why do I feel sorry,
for something I haven't done?
Why do I want to walk,
head bowed in shame?
I'll take their blame.
I have nothing to hide.
I bare no ill will towards them,
for sacrificing me.
What excuses will they use,
for the hurt they've hurled?
Tomorrow they will forget.
Acting as if nothing happened.

Yes, tomorrow they will forget leaving you saddled with the blame. You continue to feel hurt inside and no one cares. You will rise above and conquer in the end and where will they be, one can only wonder. Heartfelt feelings coming from within. Excellent poem David--Thankyou once again--Melvina

Lovely poem.... makes you feel as the person feels... working through the desire to hide then the defiance of standing tall... Alison
