Touch Poem by Leanne Henderson

Touch

Touch

Laying alone in an empty bed
Spread yourself, nothing more said
Needing wanting the touch on your skin
That aching feeling as loneliness begins

Needing wanting emotional feed
Is it physical your desire your need
Do you ache for fulfilment and love?
Or will you settle for five minutes of lust

Complex it is to try understand
The emotions we can feel with the touch of a hand
Burning infernos we can't control
But when they burn out, your barren and cold

The fear of this makes many hold back
We let the fire burn, our pride in tact
But when we give in, can we keep it alive
That fire that burns and in we dive

Never fading always raging
Burning on never ageing
I don't believe it, I've never known
My raging fire to keep burning on

I decide eternal does not exist
Take my fire extinguish this
So let me lie here on my own
No burning inferno cold and alone
