Elsewhere I have seen folks perplexed by the apparent absence of angels in Maya's poem. For those who don't know, let me explain:
Angels are not mentioned or even implied in this beautiful poem... everything this Great Master writes seems to radiate this beauty.
It was written specially for the American TV series TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL... perhaps the greatest TV series ever made... to fit in with the plotline of an episode called 'Reunion'.
It is included on the recent DVD issue (Region 1) of the Complete Second Season as well as the Time/Life release.
Highly recommended to see Dr Angelou's strong performance as an actress but, of course, especially to hear her read her own words in that wonderful voice! |
