Towards A Date Poem by Kamal Narayan Baruah

The dark sky was getting darker
And the evening along with
And I was nearing my destiny
With every second that I breathe

With the hills along with me
Around both sides lie
Moving in opposite while I saw
The beauty beverage passing by

And I saw a bird flipping its wings
And I saw the clouds moving along
With the breeze of cold air
Bringing chill and coldness so strong

The droplets like crystals
Falling from above
And I wasn't wet though
Just wet was my mind in love

And with my footsteps increased
Increased the beats
Of the heart that craved for the sight
Of the one cute face that lits
The light in thou's heart of dark

Approached her towards her slowly
With a smile she greeted me
And I wasn't able to speak anything
And I felt so dumb and sort of words

And I felt that light got lit
A breeze of happiness flowing
And a smile did come automatically
As for a sweet date I approached smiling
