Tragedy Poem by Cheyenne Price

Tragedy

she will never know
there was never a time for anything to spark
she does not see me
she cannot hear me

never a moment I could have said a few words
i had no right to speak
she will not feel me
she did not think of me

i was not in the same class
it was never acceptable for her to speak to me
she will never laugh with me
she will never cry on my shoulder

i was not on the same level
maybe she thought of the consequences?
she will not love me
she will never touch me

it was never possible to approach her
there was never a second I didn’t feel her near
beautiful will never mean what it meant for her then
gorgeous will never mean what it means for her now

she will not share anything with me
and it could possibly be the world’s biggest mistake
it could possibly be the world’s missed opportunity
fireworks are designed to pop then disappear
we would have made a deafening bang with an infinitely colorful show
and none of this matters at all because she will never know
