Trahison Des Yeux Poem by Richard John

Trahison Des Yeux

Rating: 5.0

Black, black,
Black and blue,
That's how my life
Titanic, did frigidly end
First, there was red
Red of Fire? Hell, no! That place's no fun!
Though hot like lava
T'was a bloody eruption.

My soul was broken,
My jaw is swollen,
God forsaken,
I was nearly dead.
Hell, make room.
Lord, scrap the reservations.
I am to be entombed, this is it.
No ascendance,
Damned to a pit.

Then brown, brown
Or black, or grey,
My vision has left me
Hope, don't leave me,
Mortal chains, broken,
Have set me free.

I saw too much,
They say I saw too soon
I don't believe in destiny, though
So let me explain
I cannot. I plea mercy
Then I see blue again.

Blue, blue,
Red and black.
I see rat tails and finger rings.
My ears ring.
Forgive my sins.
Everything fades,
I see nothing.
