Traits Of A Love God Poem by Lyrael Myrna

Traits Of A Love God

Rating: 4.8

For some reason
I’m always wondering
What your views are on life
My dear…
And for some reason
I can almost predict them
I can see through
That twisted, unrestrained mind of yours
For I once loved that angelic, god-likeness
But now it sickens me to realize
How idiotic someone can be
When they fall in love
They fall for sure
Into a hidden space
But inside you know that
The word ‘love’ is just an excuse to be in that dark hole
Holes are such useful things

I see the traits you possess
Oh yes
You define them as such:

Truth: an excuse to defer your lies
Lies: implements of satisfaction
Beauty: measured by attraction
Love: seen as the heart shaped box on your windowsill
Hysteria: displayed from utter contempt
Friendship: described as the highest level of efficiency
Priorities: car, money, pleasure, girlfriend.
Life: Should be eaten with a knife and fork however bad the food is
Death: “I am invincible! ”

Oh yes
I see your traits
A Love God indeed
Consistent with the criteria

But somewhere along the line
You failed
To realize how much hysteria you set out
Upon your own world
Upon your life
Amongst your own philosophies
By the way…Congratulations on your newly elected position
