Transformation Poem by Janice Harris

Transformation

The light came into my heart one day and everything else
slowly faded away. The emptiness left and I could feel. The tiny
beats of my heart in its shell. Thump, thump, thump, what
was that sound. It was as a foreign town. The beats went steady
and in rhythm. Wholeness creeps in and I begin to feel as I
did in the beginning.

The beginning when everything was fresh and crisp. There was
no sadness. Joy rose up and took root.
The light came into my heart and time seemed to fade.
I could not remember the darkness. The shadows overcast upon my soul.
Oh light what great hues you bring. Shining through my crying veins.
Mouths wide open for the light. Infringing upon every inch of me.

Glimpses of yellow, red, blue, white. How brilliant the radiance of the light.Glowing bright through the shadows.
The darkness reigned but now it's gone. The light came
into my heart one day and everything else faded slowly away.

Life again........
