Trap Jaw Ant Poem by Ima Ryma

Trap Jaw Ant

A trap jaw ant - I'm proud to be.
I can open my mouth real wide,
And faster than any specie.
With tiny hair sensors inside,
That make my mandibles so snap,
That any in my line of fire
Is gonna get bit by my trap.
'Tis not theirs, but 'tis my desire.
My jaws do not just grab the prey,
But also act as thrusters to
Launch when I want to pop away.
Humans are awed by what I do.

When I decide to shoot my jaw,
This ant has got the fastest draw.
