Trapped Poem by Elinor Auerbach

Trapped

Rating: 5.0

Locked in chains of silence
So heavy hard and cold
Each link a deadly secret
Which still remains untold

Each secret full of feelings
Being hurt, deceived, rejected
Being betrayed, manipulated
Feeling small, dejected

She locked herself within those chains
She made each fatal link
Melting, bending, welding
No time for her to think

What this work would soon create
How her masterpiece would look
When she unveiled it to the world
And hung it on its hook

But although at first, the links were soft
And easy to get around
In time they became hard
And chained her to the ground

She no longer had the power
To manipulate their shape
She couldn’t make them listen
They sealed her mouth with tape

And she lay there in her silence
Her sorrow and her pain
Her hope that someone somewhere
Would come remove her chain

Set her free from all her fears
Pull her out of that dark place
Pull back the darkness she knew so well
And uncover her true face.

Her hope that someone somewhere Would come remove her chain... You're free.. Tell it to the world and liberate yourself. Colin J...
