God had tricked me into traps galore
and sent some human gods me to shore.
Gods they are, they are!
I felt at my inner heart
Humane they are, they are!
I heard what people said.
The end of the term sent me back to
walk in dark before reaching home.
Before I reached my house in that dark night,
God had brought her back home `in dusk.
Bad they are, they are!
They scotched rumours wild!
Sly they are, they are!
They set off an alarm of rape!
In the altar of love Cupid sparked,
where’s the place for amoral sense?
An odd, unknown youth from somewhere,
aroused me to write some lines of filth.
Satan he was, he was!
To spoil my whole career!
A rotter he was, he was!
To rot away my mind!
