Tree,
How did you grow tall?
Was it the soil?
The air? The atmosphere?
Did the sun shine just enough?
Did your roots take hold?
Was it a single factor
That carried you beyond
The heights of a man?
Or an intricate web
That shelters the ants
And shade my book
From the sun?
Tree,
Can you teach me more
Than to be stationary?
Can you teach me
How to live?
