True Colors Poem by Cassandra Boyd

True Colors

Rating: 4.0

Yellow, Green, Blue,
fear, envy, sadness,
your colors shine so bright
and they wave like a flag up high.

I can see now what I didn’t before
because we were the closest of friends
and I looked past the flaws.

I was blind to the things that blocked
my vision and mental obstacles in my way
but now I see the true you no matter what you say.

No hate is harbored, no resentment felt,
just questions of why to clarify the things
you do, your motives are true only to you.

Now that I know, I’ll be fooled no more,
I see your colors now yellow, green and blue,
like a bad suit all over you.
