True Love Poem by Rose Marie Cook

True Love

Rating: 5.0

When sleep takes over
My eyes droop
My breathing slower
My heart starts to fade

Noises drowned out by thoughts
Vision blurred with images
Thoughts of you start to race
My heart picks up the pace

You are with me now
If only in my dreams
Your fingers lace through mine
And we are lost to my mind

Your smile turns
Day to night
Calls the creatures out
But none start to fight

Soft voices on the wind
Sweet scent in the air
Lightning scares me closer
And nothing can compare

Clouds gather slowly
Rain pours down
You hold me tighter
But can't stop the sound

Angel wings
Touch my cheeks
And bring your
Lips to mine

Letting go of all my sins
And all I've done
You hold on tighter
Showing me you're not gone

God's tears soak us
And heaven falls to earth
True love has spoken
And I am yours

I awake with a start
Tears on my cheeks
I turn over frightened of what I won't see
But you're still with me
