True Love

The sky is not blue today,
I can't remember when I saw the sun,
I wait patiently for it to come,
I was told to pray to Jesus,
He would bring the sun,
So I waited for it to come,
I waited patiently for that sun to come,
Until I realized the sun and I were one,
I had to look instead of wait and surely my sun did come,
The skies are mighty blue today,
And the sun is shining bright,
Had I continued to wait,
So patiently,
I might have grey skies today,
I was told to pray to Jesus for he was love,
The light, the sun, the bright, the blue,
He is the only true one.
My search is over,
I have found,
My one true,
love.

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —
Who'd toil'd, and seen no holiday,
For forty years from dawn to dark —
Alone beside Caermarthen Bay.
