True Love Is Like Poem by Joselito Lagazo

True Love Is Like

True love is like a brave heart
That says, “The mind doesn't tell”
“Forget the pain and the past”
“The present can heal”
“And the future will hope again”

True love is like a brave soldier
Who will never surrender
That which doesn't kill him or her
Will only make him or her stronger

True love is like the weather, the season
Which never bothers to be in sync with reason
But sometimes bothers
Just to show how hard for reason
To analyze the patterns of the season

True love is like a wall
Which has no opening, no hole
So one can't see what's on the other side
But to cross to that other side
One must experience “ups” and “downs”
Like climbing a wall, “but can't”
Like jumping to the other side, “but won't”
And trying these steps all over again
But none of these would matter
For true love is like the shoes you wear
That doesn't complain
About how rough the terrain
Nor the wear, tear, and repair
That each of the pair shares

True love is like matter and energy
Where nothing ever truly dies
They are simply transformed to something else
Like tears when someone cries

True love is like a resting place
Where the heart finds joy, commemorates
The painful past that it left behind
The present that is full of purpose
Because the heart learns, too, just like the mind
That no memory must be left behind
For we can only love truly once in this life
For true love doesn't see nor feel
No person can ever explain fully
No words are enough
For true love are like the stars above
Once we reached them
There is no turning back
