Trying My Hardest Poem by kayla B. mitchell

Trying My Hardest

If I didn’t care I wouldn’t need you
If I didn’t care you wouldn’t be on mind
If I didn’t care I wouldn’t waist my time
But I am having the hardest time
Leaving you behind
Im having the hardest time
trying not to care about you
And sometimes I find myself
Trying to replace what wants to be forgotten
I feel like I’ve been unguarded
Nothing left to hold back my mind
My heart wants you to be mine
My mind says you have plenty opportunities
For someone else to take up your time
So why am I
Having to try my hardest
Leaving you in past
Under the category that we just couldn’t last
But at the same time we use to say I love you
And I’ve been feeling lately my love
has meant a different love point of view
Than what it meant to you
Sometimes I feel sorry for me and you
Because I know what I did to you
I say I treated you right
But you want to be through
And I will never doubt you
Because all that I said to you was the truth
So now I will leave it up to you
For you to realizes that answer
to see upon your eyes
Whenever you stop trying your hardest to avoid my eyes
You turn your face to tell me no but wont look in my eyes
I will tell you the truth but I am not going to show you how to understand
Im trying my hardest like I said, because I am not one to beg
My only complaint that most be heard
My point of where the awkwardness stands
silent but speaks in these words
