Tuckered Out Poem by Emily Casbourn

Tuckered Out

When you can’t sleep
You become so tired you can’t begin to explain it
You toss and turn throughout the night
Everyone is scared because you can’t sleep anymore
Your little girl screams and cries
She’s either hungry or needs a new diaper
You begin to cry
This is because you’re so tuckered out
Your husband left you again
He’s at a hotel sleeping peacefully
He comes home and you’re on the floor
He wonders why this is
You look up and yell at him
He takes the baby and cares more
You finally sleep
Completely asleep you cry still
Thank you for taking her
Take care of my little girl’s life
This is when she sleeps for good
No longer alive
She leaves this world in peace for once.
