Turn Right Poem by Kailee Falvo

Turn Right

'It's your fault she's gone! '
Her parents yelled at their daughter's boyfriend.
As he walked home,
All he could think about was the
Deadly turn he took.
As he walks, he thinks,
'I should of turned right,
And everything would've been alright! '
But he didn't turn right
He followed the icy road as he passed
The huge 'don't drink and drive' sign.
And as he was trying to impress
The love of his life,
He slamed on those breaks
But he swerved into the electric poll.
Now the memory of his girlfriends
Leg still in the seat while she
Is outside the totalled car
Eats away at him.
And as the ambulence came,
He remembers the look in that little
Boys eyes in the car behind him.
The look of disgust, of fear, of disapointment.
Once he got home, he drank until
His pain was gone and got into his
Parents car and took that same road
And hit that same electric poll
His beloved girlfriend slammed into.
At the funeral his parents thought,
'If he would of turned right
He would've been alright! '
