Turnaround Poem by John Koehler

Turnaround

On these roads of broken dreams
Things aren't quite
Their not quite what they seem

I've dreamed of wealth and fame
Of living in mansions
Living it up and playing the game

But, then comes Love, your partner for life
and the back burner where your past remains
Then you answer the phone where you're put on hold
Then a couple of kids and soon you're gettin' old

Then soon your life takes a startling twist
You dream of all that you've missed
You try to rekindle a piece of you past
but, low and behold it doesn't last

Don't believe half of what you see
Turn this thing around, Turnaround
Make your stand but, be careful where you land
You can hear the sounds, Turnaround
