Twenty Years Poem by Charlotte Stevens

Twenty Years

You're such an annoying little thing.
So squishy and smelly,
You cry all the time.

You're such a pesky little thing.
So loud and noisy,
You talk all the time.

You're such a mean little thing.
So nasty and rude,
You smashed my Barbies!

So...
That's how we started...
You're still loud and noisy,
You're still really annoying,
And you definitely still talk too much.

To think twenty years have passed,
Twenty years since that smelly, stinky
Squishy, crying little thing arrived.

Twenty years have seen you grow,
Change,
Mature...hmm...maybe not.

But I know one thing,
Twenty years ago
One of the best things ever
...I think...happened.

My little sister was born.

Happy Birthday little sister,
Because you're my pesky little thing.
