Twinkle Poem by Bill Simmons

Twinkle

Rating: 4.8

Twinkle was a falling star
Who fell to earth one night at dark
He fell on top of an evergreen
And there all night Twinkle gleamed

Farmer John had raised that tree
He came out one night to look and see
He meant to cut it down one day
And take it in for Christmas day

When he saw the tree it gleamed
So beautiful he had never seen
He decorated with all his heart
A Christmas tree in his front yard

People came from miles to see
The Christmas tree that brightly gleamed
And on top the shining star
That filled with joy all their hearts

Farmer John he asked one day
Did you fall to earth someway
Will one day you go away
The twinkling star had this to say

Yes one day I’ll go away
But tonight I’ll shine bright
And I was here once before
I shined bright the night a king was born

Twinkle he went back one night
And in the heavens you can see his light
He had been here once before
The night he shined when a king was born.
