Twister Techno-Rock Poem by J.M Berger

Twister Techno-Rock

It's easy to let the anger and jealousy eat you away
Eat you until there's nothing left

I know it's wrong for us to think the things we think
I wish I had a reason why but we're just selfish men

Dorothy was a sister who rode in on a twister
Rode it and took it to Oz
She thought it was fun but she couldn't stay long
And soon she was gone from that world like Boz

Look at me
Should I be happy?
It's hard when I know I'm still just me
Left in the rain
Muscle aches and migraines
If I'm smiling it's only a disingenuous guise

I'm full of myself
But I hate myself
I know I deserve better
But I'm happy to settle
The conflict of interests
That is my life
Always apologizing
Or eloquently rhapsodizing
Although you'd be hard pressed to explain what I said
My flights of fancy...
