Two Souls Poem by Elizabeth Clement

Two Souls

Two souls merge
In one unknowing mortal

One evil and demented
One good and hopeful

They battle inside this unfortunate mortal
For power they will never have
Both causing chaos
Both causing destruction in the confused mortal

The mortal can not decide which it likes
Both has it thrills,
But both have pain engraved in them.

The evil from the mortal’s father, the demon.
The good from the mortal’s mother, the angel.

So there’s my story of how I merged
Part demon
Part angel
To fight the constant fight
Between good and evil
