Umbrella Up-Side Down Poem by Bernard Jess Sagpang

Umbrella Up-Side Down

The wind blew with symphony

A sweet chorus in the daylight

As two lovers pass by me

I smiled at this quite blissful sight

The wind blew like a big wave

Took their umbrella up-side down

As two lovers in a cave

They held at each other’s arm, bound

Then in blew like a river

As these lovers went like sailing

Rippling love and tossing shivers

In my heart, a reminiscing

A moment passed in silence

And my heart felt unease..

It felt familiar to me

Like when we were still young and true

Like how it was and how it went

How I cried and sang the same blues

As two lovers passed by me

With their umbrella up-side down

Blown by the wind that blown me

I prayed that you would come around

And fix me!
