Un-Following Their Footsteps Poem by Ulysses Cabinatan

Un-Following Their Footsteps

They passed their burden
I'm carrying it
I'm reciting their prayers
But it shouldn't be this way.

It's not necessary to follow their footsteps
I can thread a better path
It may not be a better path in their view
But I will be happy
In my own chosen track.
